We are excited to champion the Tree Growing Initiative across our schools, colleges, and other learning institutions around Wire Forest…
Our work is focused on Wire Forest and the adjacent communities living within 5km radius from the forest boundary.
Wire Forest Management Association (WIFOMA) is a registered community forest association under the registrar of societies of Kenya. It was established in the year 2013 due to necessity for interventions geared towards conserving Wire Forest. It has membership of 806 registered farmers.
My name is Millicent Aluoch from Agoro Village, Homa Bay County. I’m a 44-year-old mother of four and a proud bee farmer. Through WIFOMA, I joined a beekeeping group and started with two hives through a donor offer. Today, I have 16 hives and plan to reach 100 with a family honey processing unit. Beekeeping has given me financial independence—I now rear livestock, support my children’s education, and inspire other women to embrace bee farming and forest conservation.
