Climate Education & Awareness

We believe that knowledge is power, and equipping communities with climate knowledge is the first step toward real change. We conduct:

Climate Smart training

Interactive learning sessions that equip youth, women and men about climate-smart agriculture, renewable energy, and ecosystem management.

Workshops & Training

Conduct Capacity-building programs for farmers, students, and local leaders on climate resilience, sustainable farming, and conservation techniques.

Community Outreach Programs

Carryout public awareness campaigns to educate people on climate change, waste management, and the importance of sustainability.

Climate Advocacy & Youth Leadership

We are committed to ensuring that community and youth voices are heard in climate decision-making at local, national, and global levels. We advocate for:

Policy Engagement

Working with governments and stakeholders to promote climate-friendly policies and integrate youth perspectives into climate action plans. County Youth Ambassadors – A leadership program that trains young advocates to spearhead climate initiatives and influence policies at the county level.

Participation in Global Climate Dialogues

We engage with global platforms such as amplifying the voices of African communities and youth in conservation and climate discussions.

Green Energy Adoption

Encouraging the use of solar energy, biogas, and other renewable energy solutions in homes and communities. Waste Management &

  • Apiculture (Nature Based Bee-keeping) and honey processing
  • Nursery establishment and tree planting
  • School greening activities

Agriculture is the primary cause of deforestation, threatening pristine ecosystems globally; without action, emissions from food systems will rise even further, with increasing food production. In response to these challenges, WIFOMA adopts the concept of Climate-smart Agriculture (CSA) approaches to end food security and promote sustainable development while addressing climate change issues.

These includes the adoption of:

  • Climate-resilient crop varieties,
  • Conservation agriculture techniques
  • Agroforestry,
  • Precision farming,
  • Water management strategies,
  • Improved livestock management.

The above interventions are aimed at Increased productivity, Enhanced resilience and Reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
